  • Photo exhibition

Photo Exhibition " Shadows of War" - "L'ombre de la guerre"

"Shadows of War" gathers 90 pictures taken by world-renowned photographers to describe, one by one, the most terrible and recent wars, from Spain 1936 to Lebanon 2006.

The exhibition is meant to say “stop the tragedy of war" through a suggestive and universal language: the language of images.

These photographs - amazing and awful – invite us to linger over the reality of war in order to break through the barrier of indifference and to work to build peace.

    Paris - June 2011

The Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) of Paris has decided to host the exhibition conceived by Science for Peace.

With the title "L'ombre de la guerre" the exhibition will be inaugurated on June 28th and will close on September 25th.

Among the photographs of the exhibition: "At the end of a day of fighting in the Korengal Valley" by Tim Hetherington, news photographer dead in Misurata (Libya) during a reportage on April 20th, 2011.

The exhibition "Shadows of War" was set up in Milan during the First Science for Peace World Conference with a great success and more than 11.000 visitors.
